The Chapelle Jeanne-d'Arc is the last remaining building on a larger 19th-century block. Built in 1889 by a teaching community from Angers, "les S?urs de la Retraite", the Jeanne-d'Arc chapel is dedicated to worship. Built in neo-Gothic style, its choir faces north. Today, the building still boasts a fine collection of stained glass windows dating from 1892 to 1897, created by the Barthe and Bordereaux workshops in Angers. No longer used for religious purposes, the chapel is now used for cultural events and exhibitions, mainly of contemporary art, under the aegis of the City of Thouars? visual arts department.
