La Vélo Francette, the GR® 36 and the Camino de Santiago (Way of St James) all cross the Thouarsais from north to south, offering signposted routes, dedicated services and a wealth of places to visit.
Forest walk
This national label, developed by the France Vélo Tourisme association, is open to tourist accommodation, cycle hire and repair firms, tourist offices and restaurants, and certifies the quality of the welcome reserved for touring cyclists.

Linking Mont Saint-Michel to Santiago de Compostela, the Plantagenets Way is one of the Pilgrims' Routes to Santiago de Compostela, classified as ‘Europe's leading cultural itinerary’. The Route de Compostelle crosses the Deux-Sèvres and passes through Thouars.
To make it easier for pilgrims to find accommodation, the Thouarsais Friends of the Pilgrim's Way to Santiago de Compostela are offering to host you in one of their network of guest houses. Reserved exclusively for pilgrims on presentation of their credencial.
