Situated in the north of the Deux-Sèvres department, the Thouarsais is ideally located between the Loire Valley and the Atlantic coast. The 24 communes offer a varied landscape of agricultural plains, hedged farmland and vineyards. The GR36 and the Vélo Francette, two major national walking and cycling routes, cross the area and allow visitors to discover our natural, historical, cultural and leisure heritage.
Val en Vignes
Established on January 1, 2017, Val-en-Vignes is a new commune formed by merging the former communes of Bouillé-Saint-Paul, Cersay, Massais, and Saint-Pierre-à-Champ. It is located in the northeast of the Deux-Sèvres department, about 10 km from Thouars. The population totals 2,031 inhabitants. The most distant delegated communes are about 5 km apart, covering a total area of 7,830 hectares, including 200 hectares of AOC vineyards. These four delegated communes complement each other.
Bouillé-Saint-Paul highlights its heritage through cultural and artistic events. Cersay maintains local economic activity with its shops, artisans, medical services, and winemakers. Massais boasts a rich natural heritage, notably the Argenton valley. Saint-Pierre-à-Champ, with its agricultural and vineyard landscapes, is home to remarkable private heritage sites.
