Situated in the north of the Deux-Sèvres department, the Thouarsais is ideally located between the Loire Valley and the Atlantic coast. The 24 communes offer a varied landscape of agricultural plains, hedged farmland and vineyards. The GR36 and the Vélo Francette, two major national walking and cycling routes, cross the area and allow visitors to discover our natural, historical, cultural and leisure heritage.

Lorezt-d'Argenton is a commune with a population of 1,638 and a surface area of 2,685 hectares, crossed by two rivers, the Thouet and the Argenton. Located on the edge of the Maine-et-Loire department, Lorezt-d'Argenton is an attractive town with dynamic shops and an outward-looking economy that is above the average for the canton (Val de Thouet), reinforced by a suburban sector that is keen to develop. There is a strong and active community life. Local employment is provided by three booming businesses. A number of tradespeople have recently set up in the area, making it an attractive place to live. A health centre (doctor, nurses and physiotherapist), a pharmacy and an osteopath mean that residents can look after themselves without having to travel.
